Golf brands
A fitting gets booked on what is in the bay, not on how near it is.
Send a golfer to a bay that can genuinely fit them: the right launch monitor, real ball flight, and the heads in their hands.

What your network looks like
Fitting studios and performance centres you run yourself, a tour van that moves between events, and certified fitters at clubs that carry your heads without being your sites.
Why a generic map falls short
Golfers will drive an hour for a fitting and think nothing of it, because the alternative is hitting off a mat into a net. What decides the trip is the launch monitor, the ball flight and whether the heads exist in their hands, and a distance sort knows none of that.
What visitors need to do
- Keep the centres you run apart from certified fitters working out of somebody else's pro shop
- Say what the bay is: indoor simulator, outdoor range with real ball flight, or a putting studio
- Show which fittings a site does: full bag, driver, irons, wedges, putter
- Flag left-handed and women's fitting heads, which most sites do not hold
How Handled covers it
- Filterable tags for fitting type, launch monitor, indoor or outdoor bay and left-handed stock
- Featured ordering so your own centres sit above certified fitters, with a radius past which that stops applying
- Custom fields for the fitting fee, how long a session runs and whether the fee comes off an order
- A booking button per site pointing at whichever calendar that centre runs
- Service areas with a coverage radius for the tour van, which covers a region rather than sitting at an address
Not every golf brands business is the same
Your own fitting studios
Full matrix, your staff, your booking calendar, and the experience you actually control. These earn priority in the results, but only up to a point: featured ordering with a radius lifts them above the fitters nearby and stops applying further out, so a golfer two counties away is still shown the fitter they can reach this weekend.
Certified fitters in somebody else's pro shop
They carry your heads and your name on a certificate, and nothing else about them is yours. Their hours are the club's hours, their booking runs through the pro shop, and their matrix is whatever they chose to buy. Hold the certification level in a field, because a golfer wants to know how deep that fitter's stock goes before driving to them.
The tour van and demo days
A van covers a region for a week and is nowhere the week after. A service area with a coverage radius describes that better than a pin, and the dates belong in a field that someone updates as the schedule moves. Nothing publishes or retires a date for you, so this needs an owner rather than a setting.
Stockists who sell but do not fit
Plenty of shops carry the range without a bay behind them, and a golfer looking to buy off the shelf is a different visit from one booking a session. Keep them in the locator under their own tag so both searches succeed, and so nobody books a fitting at a counter that has never fitted anyone.
Setting it up
1. Decide what counts as a fitting location
Own studio, certified fitter, stockist, tour van. That distinction is the first tag and the one that stops a golfer booking a session somewhere that cannot run one. Agreeing it with the sales team takes an afternoon and saves the complaints.
2. Tag the bay, not the brand
Launch monitor model, indoor simulator or outdoor with real ball flight, which fittings the site does, and whether left-handed and women's heads are actually held. These are the filters a serious golfer uses, and they are the ones a distance sort cannot answer.
3. Publish the fee and the session length
Custom fields for what a fitting costs, how long it runs, and whether the fee comes off a subsequent order. The fee is the question every golfer asks before booking, and leaving it off does not remove the question, it moves it to a phone call that often does not happen.
4. Point each site at the calendar it really uses
Your studios book through yours, certified fitters book through the pro shop, and the van books through the event. A button per site with its own label and link keeps all three working, rather than routing everyone to one page that only fits one of them.
5. Set featured ordering with a radius, then test it
Search from a few real postcodes and check the order. Your centres should lead where they are genuinely the better trip, and a certified fitter half an hour away should still beat a studio ninety minutes away. Priority that never stops applying is what makes a locator feel dishonest.
What to prepare before you publish
You do not need a perfect data system to start. A clean first list is enough to test the visitor journey, then you can keep it current from the workflow that suits your team.
- Location name and address
- Phone, website or booking link
- Categories, products or services
- Opening hours and special hours
- A map provider key
- The page where the locator will be embedded
Questions we get asked
Can golfers filter by launch monitor and whether the bay is indoor or gives real ball flight?
Yes. Launch monitor, indoor simulator or outdoor with real ball flight, and which fittings a site runs are all filterable tags. These are the filters a serious golfer uses, and they are the ones a distance sort cannot answer.
How do we keep our own studios above certified fitters without burying a closer fitter?
Featured ordering with a radius. Your studios lead among the sites around them and priority stops applying past the radius you set, so a certified fitter half an hour away still beats a studio ninety minutes away.
Can we flag which sites hold left-handed and women's fitting heads?
Yes, as a filterable tag per site, because most centres do not hold them. A left-handed golfer filtering for stock is asking the one question that decides whether an hour in the car is worth it.
How do we list a tour van that covers a region for a week rather than sitting at an address?
Give it a service area with a coverage radius instead of a pin, and hold the dates in a custom field that someone updates as the schedule moves. Nothing retires a date for you, so the van needs an owner rather than a setting.
Can each fitting centre take bookings through its own calendar?
Yes. Every site gets its own button label and link, so your studios book through your calendar, certified fitters book through the pro shop, and the tour van books through whoever runs the event.
What does a fitting centre locator cost for a golf brand?
From $19 per month after a 7-day free trial that needs no card, and there is no free plan once the trial ends. The map key is yours, so Mapbox or Google Maps bills you for usage directly instead of us reselling map calls.
If you need something that is not here
Handled is small enough to build to order. If your trade needs a field, a filter or a behaviour the locator does not have yet, say so and we will tell you honestly whether it is a week away or not something we will do.
