They will drive an hour to lie on it. Only if it is on the floor.

What your network looks like
Independent bed retailers and furniture showrooms, regional chains with different models per branch, and a few of your own galleries, all of them with limited floor space and a rotating selection.
Why a generic map falls short
A mattress is bought lying down. The whole question is whether that specific model in that specific firmness is on the floor of the showroom you are about to drive to, and a map that only proves the retailer sells the brand answers none of it.
What visitors need to do
- Say which models are on the floor at that branch, because floor space decides the stock and no two branches match
- Show the comfort grades available to try, since the same model in soft and firm is two different decisions
- Note which showrooms have the sleep trial, delivery and old-mattress removal a buyer is comparing
- Give each showroom the area it delivers to, as a bed is not carried home from the shop
How Handled covers it
- Filterable tags per location for the models and comfort grades on the showroom floor
- Service areas with a radius for the delivery zone each retailer covers
- Custom fields for sleep trial length, delivery terms and mattress removal
- Google Sheets sync with change review, since floor models change with every range update
Not every mattress brands business is the same
Independent bed retailers
One showroom, a hundred square metres of floor, and an owner who chose eight models from four brands. What goes on the floor is a commercial decision that changes when a range changes, and it is the only thing a buyer driving over cares about. This part of the list needs to be correctable by whoever visits the account.
Multi-branch chains
Every branch has a different floor and head office knows which. The list arrives as a file, changes at a range launch and quietly goes stale in between. A buyer who checks your map, drives to their nearest branch and finds the model they came for is not on show blames the brand, not the branch.
Furniture stores and department bed halls
The bed department is upstairs at the back of a store that also sells sofas and dining tables. The address gets somebody to the building and no further, and the staff on that floor may be covering three departments. Which models are set up, and where in the building they sit, are both worth publishing.
Adjustable, clinical and mobility specialists
Pressure care, adjustable frames and profiling beds are sold through assessment rather than browsing, often with a home visit and sometimes with a funded route through a healthcare provider. Their catchment is the area they will travel to, not the streets around the shop, and listing them as a showroom to drop into misrepresents how they work.
Setting it up
1. Get the floor model list out of the field team's heads
Ask each account, or the rep who visits it, which models and comfort grades are physically on the floor. That audit is the whole difference in this trade, and it is the reason to keep the list somewhere the field team can edit rather than in a database only head office touches.
2. Import and tag by model and comfort grade
Bring the retailers in from a CSV or Google Sheets and tag each with the models on show and the firmnesses available to try. The same model in soft and in firm is two different decisions, and both are worth an hour of somebody's Saturday.
3. Give each retailer a delivery radius
Nobody carries a mattress home. Set a service area with the radius each showroom delivers to, so a buyer at the edge of a town knows whether the shop holding the model will actually bring it to the door.
4. Add the terms and publish
Sleep trial length, delivery lead time and old mattress removal get compared while somebody is lying on the bed. Put them in custom fields, keep the sheet synced so a range launch does not leave last year's floor models on the map, then embed the locator on your stockists page.
What to prepare before you publish
You do not need a perfect data system to start. A clean first list is enough to test the visitor journey, then you can keep it current from the workflow that suits your team.
- Location name and address
- Phone, website or booking link
- Categories, products or services
- Opening hours and special hours
- A map provider key
- The page where the locator will be embedded
Questions we get asked
How much does a showroom finder cost for a mattress brand?
From $19 a month, with a 7 day free trial that does not take a card, and no free plan afterwards. Maps run on a Mapbox or Google Maps key you own, so map usage is billed to you by the provider rather than marked up in the subscription.
Can I show which mattress models are on the floor at each showroom?
Yes, as filterable tags on the location. Floor space decides what a retailer shows, no two branches match, and a buyer prepared to drive an hour is really asking whether that model is there to lie on.
How do I show which comfort grades a buyer can try in person?
Tag the firmnesses physically on the floor, not the ones the retailer could order. The same model in soft and in firm is two different decisions, and both are worth publishing separately.
Can I show the area each bed retailer delivers to?
Yes. Give each showroom a service area with a delivery radius, so a buyer at the edge of a town can see whether the shop holding the model will bring it to the door. Radius only, so an odd delivery zone has to be approximated.
Can I put sleep trial length and old mattress removal on each listing?
Yes, in custom fields per location. Those terms get compared while somebody is lying on the bed, and they differ retailer to retailer even when the model does not.
How do I update floor models everywhere when a range launches?
Keep the retailer list in Google Sheets with sync on, edit the model tags there and review the batch before it publishes. A range launch changes many rows at once, and reviewing them together is what stops last year's floor models sitting on the map.
If you need something that is not here
Handled is small enough to build to order. If your trade needs a field, a filter or a behaviour the locator does not have yet, say so and we will tell you honestly whether it is a week away or not something we will do.
