What your network looks like

Authorised dealers inside multi-brand jewellers, a small number of mono-brand boutiques, and approved service centres that repair rather than sell, all of it shadowed by grey-market sellers offering the same references cheaper.

Why a generic map falls short

Watch retail runs on appointment, and the locator is where a buyer checks it. Listing anyone who happens to sell the references, or mixing repair centres in with points of sale, damages the exact thing the page exists to prove.

What visitors need to do

  • Show authorised dealers only, because appearing here is what a buyer reads as proof the warranty will be honoured
  • Keep service and repair on its own list, since a customer with a watch to regulate is asking a different question from one with money to spend
  • Say which collections a dealer is appointed for, as jewellers are rarely appointed for the whole catalogue
  • Mark boutiques and appointment-only viewings apart from a general jewellery counter

How Handled covers it

  • Filterable tags per location for authorised dealer, boutique, service centre and collections held
  • Custom fields per location for the dealer's own appointment booking link
  • Featured ordering so boutiques and flagship dealers sit above multi-brand counters
  • CSV import and Google Sheets sync, with changes reviewed before a dealer list goes live

Not every watch brands business is the same

Multi-brand jewellers

Appointed for two collections out of six, sharing a window with four other brands, and often the only listing for eighty miles. A buyer travelling to see a specific reference needs to know what that dealer is appointed for before they set off, or the visit turns into a conversation about something they did not come for.

Mono-brand boutiques

Your own doors, or a partner's, carrying the catalogue properly and running on appointments. They should sit above every other pin, they hold previews and events, and for most buyers the visit begins on your locator rather than at the door.

Approved service centres

Somebody whose watch runs fast is asking a completely different question from somebody with money to spend, and they both arrive on this page. A centre with a watchmaker on site, a dealer who sends work away and a full service centre are three different answers, and separating them is the quickest support win the page offers.

Certified pre-owned and vintage partners

Where a brand runs an approved pre-owned programme the partner list is short, and being on the official map is most of the proof of authenticity a buyer is looking for. It has to read as distinct from new sales, and it has to be exactly right, because this is the list the grey market imitates.

Setting it up

  1. 1. Reconcile against current appointments

Every dealer on this map is a warranty claim in the buyer's mind. Check the list against live agreements, including which collections each dealer is appointed for, and remove anyone whose appointment has lapsed before a single pin is published.

  2. 2. Import and tag by role

Load the dealers and tag each as authorised dealer, boutique, service centre or pre-owned partner, along with the collections held. Those tags become the filters, and they are the first thing a visitor touches.

  3. 3. Add each dealer's booking route

Viewings are arranged, not stumbled into. Put the dealer's booking link, direct number or contact address in a custom field so a visitor can set up an appointment from the map instead of hunting through the jeweller's own website.

  4. 4. Feature the boutiques and publish

Set featured ordering so boutiques and flagship dealers sit above multi-brand counters, then embed the locator on your dealers page. Check that the wording on the page says authorised, because that word is doing most of the work.

What to prepare before you publish

You do not need a perfect data system to start. A clean first list is enough to test the visitor journey, then you can keep it current from the workflow that suits your team.

  • Location name and address
  • Phone, website or booking link
  • Categories, products or services
  • Opening hours and special hours
  • A map provider key
  • The page where the locator will be embedded

Questions we get asked

What does it cost to run an authorised dealer map for a watch brand?

The entry plan is $19 a month and the 7 day trial before it needs no card. There is no free plan once the trial is over. The map key is your own Mapbox or Google Maps key, so the provider bills you for map usage directly and we do not mark it up.

Can I show which collections each authorised dealer is appointed for?

Yes. Tag each dealer with the collections they hold, and the visitor filters on it before travelling. A jeweller appointed for two collections out of six then reads correctly instead of implying the whole catalogue.

What should the page say about sellers who list my watches without an appointment?

The locator only ever shows the dealers you upload, so nothing unappointed appears on it. Most brands add a line on the page saying that dealers shown here are authorised and that a warranty depends on it, because being on the map is what the buyer is checking.

Can I keep service centres off the list of places to buy a watch?

Yes. Service and repair get their own tag and filter, separate from authorised dealers, boutiques and any pre-owned partners. The owner whose watch runs fast and the buyer with money to spend then get different answers on the same page.

Can I link each jeweller's own appointment booking from the locator?

Yes, through a custom field holding the dealer's booking link, direct line or contact address. The widget takes no bookings itself, so an appointment is always made in the jeweller's own system. It can take an enquiry and route it to the dealer whose territory covers the address, which is a message rather than a reserved appointment.

How do I publish certified pre-owned partners separately from new sales?

Give the pre-owned programme its own tag so it filters apart from new. That list is short and the official map is most of the authenticity proof a buyer is looking for, so it is worth keeping in a synced sheet and reviewing changes before they go live.

If you need something that is not here

Handled is small enough to build to order. If your trade needs a field, a filter or a behaviour the locator does not have yet, say so and we will tell you honestly whether it is a week away or not something we will do.
