Add appointment booking to your locator

A Book now button on every location, from any booking system that gives you a link, set one at a time or in bulk.

A Book now button on every location

A salon finder, a clinic directory, a showroom locator: the visitor finds the nearest place and books without leaving the page. The button is a custom field holding each location's booking link, rendered as an action on the card, the popup and the detail pane. It works with any system that gives you a URL per location: Calendly, Acuity, Square Appointments, Vagaro, Booksy, Fresha, or your own booking page.

Add the booking link to each location

  1. 1

    Open a location

Under Locations, edit a location and open the Details tab.
  2. 2

    Add a custom field

Add a field named for the action, for example Book now, and paste that location's booking URL as the value. Use the same field name on every location; the name is what becomes the button.
  3. 3

    Save and repeat

Locations without the field simply show no button, so you can roll it out a few at a time.

For many locations, set the field in bulk instead of one at a time:

  • From Claude or ChatGPT. With the connector attached: "Add a Book now button linking to https://booking.example.com/duluth on my Duluth location" or, with a pattern, "Set Book now on every location to our booking page followed by the location's slug".
  • From the API. PATCH /api/v1/locations/:id with customFields: { "Book now": "https://…" }, or the bulk form with a list of ids when the URL is the same for all. See the Location API.
  • From Zapier. The Zapier recipe sets custom fields the same way.

Make it a button

Open Layout & fields. Find the custom field and place it as an action rather than a fact. An action carries its own label, colour and icon, so the button can say "Book a consultation" in your brand colour even though the field is called Book now. Place it on the card, the popup, the detail pane, or all three. Details are in customize layout and results.

More than one kind of appointment

Add a second custom field, Book a consultation and Book a service for example, and place both as actions. A location with only one URL shows only one button.

Measure it

Clicks on the button are action_click events in analytics, and the handled:action-clicked browser event carries the field name, so a booking click can be mirrored into your own analytics.

Common questions

Can the booking link open in the same tab? Actions open in a new tab by default, which keeps the locator where the visitor left it. The website link target setting in the settings reference governs the website link; custom actions follow the same rule.

Does this work for services without a fixed address? Yes. A service-area location carries custom fields like any other.
