What you can do
Connect your locator to ChatGPT once, and manage it by describing what you want. Add locations, tag them, put booking buttons on them, restyle the widget and get your embed code from a conversation, against your real data. ChatGPT picks the right locator tool from what you ask and reports back what changed.
The connection covers the one locator on the account you sign in with, and disconnecting removes access without touching anything you built.
Connect
ChatGPT keeps custom connectors behind its developer mode switch, so there is one extra step compared to Claude.
- In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode.
- Add a connector with the endpoint:
https://app.handledlocal.com/api/mcp - Sign in with your Handled Locator account when ChatGPT sends you to the login page.
- Approve the connection. The locator tools are now available in new conversations.

Permissions and safety
Restyling your live widget is two-step by design: ChatGPT prepares the change, shows the exact differences, and applies nothing until you agree in the conversation. Every configuration version is kept and restorable, and deleted locations stay recoverable from the dashboard.
Disconnect
Remove the connector in ChatGPT's settings. Your data stays put, and reconnecting later picks up exactly where you left off.
