Create a store locator for your website

Add locations, make it look like your site, connect a map and paste one snippet, with the decisions that shape each kind of locator.

A store locator on your website, this afternoon

Three steps in the dashboard and one snippet pasted onto a page. It works on Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix and any site that accepts HTML, and it serves as a store finder, a where-to-buy page, a dealer locator, a service-area map or a provider directory. The quickstart is the short form; this page adds the decisions.

1. Add your locations

  1. 1

    One by one

Under Locations, add a location with its name and address. The address is geocoded as you save. Fine up to a few dozen.
  2. 2

    From a spreadsheet

Drop a CSV into Data, match the columns, review, import. The prepare a location sheet checklist makes the review clean.
  3. 3

    From where they already live

Connect Google Sheets, Airtable, Webflow CMS or HubSpot and the locator keeps itself current.
  4. 4

    By describing them

Attach the Claude or ChatGPT connector and paste the list. It geocodes, tags and confirms.

Add tags while you are at it: store type, products, services. They become the filters.

2. Make it look like your site

Pick a layout: list beside the map, list below it, grid, or list only. Set the accent colour and font, or paste your website's address under Appearance and let the locator pull them from your site. Choose a map style and markers. Every word the visitor sees is editable under Labels. Nothing here needs code; a custom stylesheet is there for the cases that do.

The connector does this too: "match my locator to example.com" proposes the colours, font and wording and shows the differences before applying.

3. Connect a map provider

The map tiles come from Mapbox or Google, billed on your own key so the price of the locator does not depend on your traffic. Connect a map provider covers creating and restricting the key; both providers include far more monthly loads free than most locators use.

4. Paste the embed

Copy the snippet from Embed & Install and paste it where the locator should appear. Platform-specific steps: Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix. Any other site takes the same two lines of HTML. Settings change from the dashboard without touching the snippet again.

Which kind of locator are you building?

  • Store finder for a chain: hours with open-now, directions, search by town. See location hours.
  • Where-to-buy page for a brand sold through retailers: product tags as filters, an online tab. See where to buy.
  • Dealer locator with territories and routed enquiries: dealer locator.
  • Service-area map for providers who cover a region: service-area locator.
  • Provider directory with booking: appointment booking.

After launch

Analytics shows what visitors searched and where searches found nothing, which is the list of places to open next. A search bar in your site header, campaign links that land on a pre-filled search, and the JavaScript API are in the guides. Webhooks and the Location API connect the rest of your systems.
