What you can do
Connect your locator to Claude once, and managing it becomes something you say rather than something you click through. Add locations, tag them, put booking buttons on them, restyle the widget and get your embed code, all from a conversation. Claude picks the right tool from what you ask, works against your real data, and reports back what changed.
The connection covers the one locator on the account you sign in with. Claude cannot see any other account's data, and disconnecting removes access without touching anything you built.
Connect
There is no key to create and nothing to copy besides one address.
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Paste the endpoint:
https://app.handledlocal.com/api/mcp - Claude sends you to the Handled Locator sign-in page. Log in with your normal account.
- Approve the connection. You are returned to Claude, and the locator tools are available in every conversation.
A free trial account can connect on day one.
What to say
Talk normally. These prompts have each been run, word for word, against a live locator:
- "What locations do I have in my store locator?"
- "Add a new location: Riverside Coffee Uptown, 2800 Routh St, Dallas TX 75201"
- "Which of my locations is closest to Fort Worth?"
- "Add the Flagship tag to my Dallas locations"
- "Add a Book a table button linking to our booking page on all my Dallas locations, in our brand colour"
- "Change the accent colour to a deep green and show me what would change before you apply it"
- "Give me the embed code for my locator"
Permissions and safety
Changes to how your live widget looks are deliberately two-step: Claude prepares the change, shows you the exact list of differences, and applies nothing until you agree. Every configuration version is kept, so anything can be restored. Deleting a location is soft, and it stays recoverable from the dashboard.
Disconnect
Remove the connector from the same Claude settings screen where you added it. Your data stays put: locations, tags and configuration are all still there if you reconnect later.
