Getting started

Quickstart

Create, brand and install your first Handled Locator without configuring every option.

All four steps end to end, in 35 seconds. Recorded from the product

Before you start

Have at least one real location ready with its name and either a complete address or latitude and longitude. You can start without a payment card. A Mapbox or Google Maps browser key is needed before the public map can render, but it does not block adding locations or designing the results list.

1. Add locations

  1. 1

    Choose your data path

Add one location manually, import a CSV, or connect Google Sheets.
  2. 2

    Review the coordinates

Handled geocodes complete addresses. Rows it cannot place stay visible with a reason instead of being silently dropped.
  3. 3

    Keep only public fields public

Phone, website, hours, categories and custom fields can appear to visitors. Do not put private operational notes into location fields.

2. Choose a direction

Open Configure, then Brand. Start with a brand direction or one of the complete examples. Adjust the accent, background, text, buttons, typography and spacing while looking at the real widget preview.

3. Connect a map

Choose Mapbox or Google Maps under Configure → Map, then add that provider's browser key under Embed & Install. Restrict it to the domain where the locator will run before publishing.

4. Install

Copy the complete snippet from Embed & Install and paste it into the page where visitors should find locations. Publish the page, open its public URL, then run Check installation. The setup completes after the locator loads from that public page; copying code alone does not.
